At Wing Control, we make our customer's priority our responsibility. While reviewing our process of receiving and responding to customer requests, we identified several recurring pain points that, if eliminated, would greatly benefit our sales team and provide our customers a faster response.

Email-centric RFQs are extremely inefficient. When an email request was found and chosen for evaluation, the details were then manually entered into our existing business software. This burdened our salespeople with the task of data entry before research and quoting could take place.

Internal communication and routing of requests was inefficient and time consuming. Many of our salespeople would receive the same RFQ and we lacked the workflow automation to assign these requests and avoid duplication. This was compounded when the same request would come from multiple listing services.

Traveling, remote and at-home employees had a difficult time accessing our systems. Our existing system had no real web or mobile capability which meant users would have to use VPN and/or remote desktop software to access our internal systems. This created a costly and complicated configuration that no longer addressed the needs of our employees.

In Spring of 2020, we discovered and implemented VistaQuote to address these issues and upgrade our process of managing and responding to RFQs. We list our products and services on several marketplaces and now have a centralized platform to digitally view and respond to those requests and have processed nearly 10,000 RFQs so far this year.

Customization workflows now route requests directly to the appropriate team member(s) removing confusion and avoiding duplication of inbound RFQs. Compared to our old copy and paste approach, our RFQ evaluation and decision making is more than 90% faster thanks to real-time integration with our existing business system.

Our remote and at-home staff alike now have an intuitive, easily accessible, cloud-based platform that greatly reduces our IT expenditure. The mobile application allows to us to view RFQs and check inventory levels which is especially useful when responding to off- hour requests such as AOGs.
